    First Step: Clean and Dry Gutter Areas

    The first step prior to installing bird spikes is to clean and dry gutter areas. You’d better put on your safety glasses and garden gloves in order to protect yourself from the dirt, birds dropping and pests that may be living within the debris. And wear comfortable non-slip footwear.

    The best way to access your gutters is using a ladder. Set up the ladder and safely secure it at the ladder’s base or have someone holding it for you while you work.

    The stainless steel strip can be cut to the desired size using tin snips.

    Place the stainless steel strip on the inner front edge of the gutter lip, while the sloping spikes pointing back across the gutter towards the roof surface.

    Slide under the springs of the gutter bracket, and simply bend the fastening tabs of the crrrier strip over the gutter edge by hand or with a pair of pliers.
