Bird spikes have very many benefits
Stainless steel bird spikes have very many benefits in that they keep birds out of these areas and do not harm them.
- 1. They are approved by almost every humane organization in the world. And the spikes do not harm birds – they just prevent pigeons from landing.
- 2. All areas where the spikes are attached should be cleaned to ensure they are clean, dry and free of pigeon droppings.
- 3. Squeeze the silicone-fixed pigeon spikes well into the bottom of the spikes. (about as thick as your pinky finger; if the ledge surface is not flat, make it a little thicker).
- 4. Glue the edge of the pipe or ledge to the bottom of the spike level. So that the spikes pin protrudes slightly. Press down hard on the base so that the glue oozes out through the small holes.
- 5. If the gap behind the first spike is greater than 2.5 inches, the pigeon will enter behind them. Therefore, it is necessary to place another row of spikes in that space to block it.
- 6. For very wide ledges, 3 or more rows of spikes will be needed. Note: Make sure the gap between rows is no greater than 2½ inches.
